Ralston’s preferred areas of practice included commercial relationships and transactions, real estate development and institutional representations, such as Hospital Authorities, Government agencies, and the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia.

Ralston was involved in his community and nationally as a volunteer on a number of organizations.

Ralston also served the legal profession in British Columbia in various capacities over his career including in the Law Society of British Columbia where he was President in 2005 and a Bencher from 1999 to 2005. While with the Law Society he served on a wide variety of committees and chaired both the Ethics Committee and the Credentials Committee.
